10 Turkeys in the Road

PRIZE: One critique of your PB manuscript (1000 words max.)

In 2007 Brenda’s rhyming picture book manuscript Touchdown (then titled THE FOOTBALL GAME) won first place (out of 400 manuscripts) in The Smart Writer’s contest, judged by famed writer Verla Kay. Brenda’s manuscript 10 TURKEYS IN THE ROAD received an honorable mention in the same contest.

In August 2007, Brenda received an acceptance from Blooming Tree Press for a poem titled, "Snuggled Child", that will be included in their Sweet Dreams anthology picture book, to be released in 2011.

Brenda’s a rhyming picture book writer who says, “Rhyming makes her heart sing!” On nice sunny days you can hear her rendition of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” being sung to any moose or loon that will listen at the lake, but they think she should definitely stick to writing!
